How to Do DTF Printing with Cricut Machines
DTF printing with Cricut is a great way for hobbyists and small business owners to start producing custom apparel from home. DTF printing with Cricut can feel intimidating at first, but with the right peel timing and heat settings, anyone can produce high-quality results.

1. Position Your Design
No need to pre-iron your shirt—your transfer will adhere just fine without it. Simply place the design in your desired spot. Typically, position it 3-4 inches down on the front of an adult t-shirt, 2-3 inches down for a youth t-shirt, and about 1 inch lower on the back of the same garment. To ensure perfect placement, apply a test transfer to one shirt and try it on. This will boost your confidence before applying it to the rest of your products.

2. Press
Set your Cricut to 320°F–340°F and press for 20 seconds. If the transfer isn’t sticking, gradually increase the temperature by 15°F at a time until it adheres properly. There’s no risk of overpressing, so experiment until you find the right settings.
Before pressing, cover the transfer with a Silicone Garment Protector, applying firm pressure for 20 seconds.
The better your transfers are pressed, the more durable they’ll be through washing and drying.

3. Peel While Hot
With our Easy Peel Technology, you can peel hot or cool. Wait a few seconds, then peel! If parts of the design don’t stick, lay it back down and press again with more pressure and 15°F more heat.
If needed, continue increasing the temperature in 15°F increments until the design fully adheres. The great thing about NinjaTransfers is that repeated pressing won’t damage the transfer.

4. Final Press
Place parchment paper (included) or a single layer of t-shirt material over the design and press again at the same settings for 20 seconds. This step softens the design, boosts durability, and removes shine.
For a shinier finish, use our Protective Guard Sheet.
One of the most common mistakes in DTF printing with Cricut is not applying even pressure—always press on a firm, flat surface for best results.
